      Seokjo Yeorae Jwasang
The width of the knees and the general massiveness gives this statue an aura of stability. The Buddha statue and light background are one stone. The face is seriously weathered, but looks pretty with round cheek and smiling lips. The left hand is in front of the belly with upright palms, and the right hand rests on the right knee. This depicts Buddha when he defeated a bad spirit and found great illumination under a bo tree. It is also called the Hangmachokjiin(降魔觸地印). The background shows the light coming out of Buddha’s body. In this statue, the light was slightly embossed as a fire pattern, but it is unknot very clear because the embossing has worn away. The thick and heavy-looking robe has wrinkles expressed with thick lines that witness the uniqueness of this statue.
